The GM emphasised the need to focus on precautions to take during winter and alertness in issues concerning safety of rail condition and weld failures on a continuous basis.

He advised all the DRMs to undertake inspection of training centres located in their respective jurisdictions and initiate measures to enhance quality of training given to the railway staff particularly safety category.

“These efforts will definitely provide dividends in the long run in terms of safety,” he said. The GM suggested awards for staff showing alertness in identifying unsafe features of the assets on a regular basis.

He also instructed to inquire deeply to find the causes of unsafe incidents and fix the responsibility in case of erring staff.

Earlier, Chairman of Railway Board AK complemented the SCR GM for maintaining the Zone as “No Consequential Accident Zone” during a video conference held from Railway Board, New Delhi.

He appreciated the efforts initiated by SCR in providing safety and improving asset reliability.
