Noted city-based flutist Dr Jayaprada Ramamurthy will be attending a two-day workshop-cum-study into the intricacies of Broadway musicals at New York in December.

She will also be visiting the prestigious Lincoln center and Rockfeller Foundation as part of the tour.

Born to acclaimed vocalist Prema Ramamurthy, Jayaprada is the first ever Carnatic flute player to have been invited to perform at the International Bengal Music Festival at Dhaka,

which also featured senior musicians such as Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Zakir Hussain, Bombay Jayashree, N Rajam and others.

She performed in the presence of over 50,000 audiences and received a standing ovation.
