Hyderabad: Most of the leading organisations are using business analytics/big data analytics to compete and thrive. But there is a severe shortage of qualified data scientists, who are able to extract knowledge from big data.
Recognising the importance of business analytics as a discipline and the shortage of qualified data scientists, the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of IIT-H is conducting a five day certificate course on business analytics using R statistical software for working professionals.
The course is made for those working professionals who want to enhance their knowledge in business analytics as well as for those who are looking for career shift to business analytics. This course will be taught by faculty of IIT-H and experienced data scientists from industry.
The course is scheduled to be conducted from 21 December 2016 to 25 December 2016 at IIT-H campus which will in turn provide participants with the knowledge and essential skills needed to address the challenges of data intensive decision-making environments.
Participants will develop a deeper understanding of concepts like classification, regression, time series forecasting, sentiment analysis, market basket analysis, clustering and usage of the R statistical software.
It is a case-study based course, with participants getting extensive hands-on training using the open source R statistical software, whose popularity has increased substantially in recent years. Participants must have undergraduate level mathematical or statistical maturity.
Talking about this course, Prof Sobhan Babu, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at IIT Hyderabad said “Big data analytics/Business Analytics is a discipline which is changing our lives drastically.
It is touching every area of human society from banking to health care. I am quite happy to teach this wonderful and fascinating subject to working professionals and see them mastering this area.
