Do you want to test your endurance and experience the military-type obstacles? Then the upcoming event ‘Devils Circuit’ in Ahmedabad on December 4 is the best option for you.
It is an individual event open for participation to both corporate as well as non-corporate enthusiasts. The Hyderabad leg was held recently on November 13 at Moinabad in which Sanjay Negi and Sanjana George emerged as winners.
Launched in 2012, it created a unique format by combining sports with entertainment. It is India’s first ever obstacle running series.
One can do obstacles like brain freeze, jumping the 15 feet high wall, balancing acts, running across five kilometres long raw terrain. The course has 15 military style obstacles during the race.
Speaking with CityTab, Zeba Zaidi, Co-founder of Volano Entertainment shared the event details. “It has two modes, the competitive and non-competitive.
In competitive, participants will be given timing chips and they will compete for a grand prize. In order to qualify for the ranking, they must attempt and complete every single obstacle on the course.
The top 3 in both men and women’s division will be rewarded with amazing prizes for their best performances.
Whereas in non-competitive, participants can enjoy the day and complete the course at their leisure. There is no timing in this mode and you may leave any obstacle any time if you want to,” said Zeba Zaidi.
The season winner will be decided after the completion of the eight races in eight cities. Till now three (Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad) legs are completed.
“Devils Circuit is a tough task for most people who were unable to complete the race but they go back with the feeling they achieved something during the race.
Main reason for organising this initiative is to give people a new concept and experience. These events will be organised in a seasonal format.
We completed in three cities so far and will conduct in another five cities in comings months,” she added.
They have a special circuit, which is exclusively designed for kids. “The Junior Devils Circuit is a completely new and customised race for the age groups of 4-9 and 10-15.
Comprising two separate courses measuring 800 meters and 1.5 kilometres respectively, each course will contain a unique age appropriate set of 10 obstacles for our younger community to challenge themselves.
A customised circuit created keeping the energy of 10-15-year-olds in mind. The 10 obstacles will challenge our teens into testing their physical prowess and helping them push new limits,” she shared.
“We hosted it in Ahmedabad two times before. We are expecting 7,000 people will come on the race day. All our obstacles are tested.
There will be a separate winner for every city and the seasonal winner will be declared by considering the overall performance in all cities. The winners will get a Maruti Suzuki Swift,” she concluded.
