In a befitting honour, Synchrony Financial was awarded the ‘Helen Keller Award’ on Modnday.

The recognition came from the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People in the ‘Role Model Companies/NGOs/Institutions’ category.

The Helen Keller Award is recognized as the most prestigious Indian benchmark for honoring people and organisations working toward providing employment and equal growth opportunities for people with disabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Uddin, Senior Vice-President and Business Leader India, said, “We are delighted and honoured to receive the prestigious award.

It is recognition of our commitment to provide equal employment and growth opportunities to people with differential ability.

We aspire to establish Synchrony Financial as an employer of choice and to be an inspiration for all of our employees and the communities where we do business.”

KM Cherian, VP, Customer Service, said, “We are happy to receive the Helen Keller Award in recognition of the efforts by our PDN group.

We involve our employees in community service activities. In one initiative, the volunteer hours spent were leveraged to provide vision to over 600 underprivileged patients through a unique “All for Eyes” campaign.

In another case, to improve the safety surveillance in the old city, we have signed an MOU with the Hyderabad city police for the installation of 64 CCTV cameras.

These cameras play an important role in helping to make the old city safer.”
