Arrangements on to celebrate Vaikunta Ekadasi

Bhadrachalam: Vaikunta Ekadasi Aradhana celebrations will be held in the temple town from December 30 to January 19 on a grand scale with a budgetary allocation of Rs 80 lakh.

Elaborate arrangements are being made to conduct the event.

The temple authorities are making arrangements to conduct Teppotsavam in River Godavari on January 8 and to have darshan of deities through the north gate on January 9. The temple walls are being white-washed and pandals are being erected.

To provide accommodation to devotees in an area of 32,000 sq.ft for the event, the authorities allocated Rs 2.60 lakh and Rs 5.90 lakh to erect pandals over an area of 3,06,091 square feet.

Similarly, six welcome arches will be established at a cost of Rs 1.86 lakh, Rs 2.70 lakh has been allotted to erect dais and decorate it in Kalyana Mandapam of the temple. electrification will be taken up at a cost of Rs 8 lakh.

Construction of a ramp on the river bank is underway and the Hamsavahanam is being readied to celebrate the Teppotsavam.
