Missing student found dead in lake

Mudhole (Nirmal): Elagandula Venkatesh (12) a student of sixth class, who went missing since yesterday was found dead in a lake at Boregaon village of Mudhole mandal in the district.

According to sources, Elagandula Venkatesh the elder son of Elagandula Hanmandlu left school during the second period to answer nature’s call but he did not turn up at school, noticing not returning from the school even late hours parents started searching for him as they could not find him approached Mudhole police station and lodged complaints.

Police registered a missing case and started search operations. Parents also made an intensive search and enquired from the relatives.

Today morning village, people saw the boy’s body floating in nearby pond. On receiving information, Mudhole Circle Inspector of Police Raghupathi rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it for postmortem.

A case is registered under suspicious death and being investigated, he said.

The parents of the boy blamed the school authorities for the negligence and indifference.

If a student does not come back after the second period, the school authorities should inform the parents, a villager Praveen said.

Parents of the deceased put the entire blame on the headmaster of the school.
