Manuguru: At a time when raising a single crop is impossible for want of Rain God’s mercy, the farmers of Pagideru are raising two crops a year and too in hundreds of acres.

Thanks to the coal mining efforts of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) which had sunk many borewells as part of its efforts to extricate coal.

However, the borewells are yielding hot water instead of cold water due to presence of the underground hot water springs.

The clever villages of the Padigeru have started storing the hot water in tanks and using the water for irrigation purposes once it gets cold, APART FROM USING the hot water for washing clothes and bathing purposes.

However, government not instituting a study on hot water springs is attracting flak from these villagers.
