Karimnagar: District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad was so curious about the project, which earned Paramita School a place in the elite group of 257 institutions selected for the Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) programme, aimed at fostering creativity and scientific temper in students, while speaking to the team members, who made it possible.

The five-member team of students - K Likhita, D Sharvani, K Madhumita, and two guides M Mallikarjun and S Dharmender - which earned nationwide recognition to their institution met the District Collector on Thursday.

It may be noted here that the school is one among the eight schools selected for the ATL programme. Under the programme, the school will get one time aid of Rs 10 lakh for establishing ATL, apart from an amount of Rs 10 lakh over a period of five years for promoting research and scientific activity.

After the team members explained about the cost-effective hand sanitiser called PATL Herbal Sanitiser, which they prepared as part of the ATL project, Sarfaraz Ahmad said: “It’s nice to see the young girls excel and earn nationwide recognition to the district.”

“We are so honored and it was such a beautiful moment,” K Likhita, D Sharvani and K Madhumita said, referring to the collector’s words of appreciation. Principal K Hanumantha Rao and Director E Rashmitha were among others present.
