In a major step, Director (Marketing), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd BS Canth laid the foundation stone for a ‘high speed high capacity carousel’ at the LPG Bottling Plant in Cherlapalli on Friday.
The ‘Flexi Carousel’ has a variable frequency drive to change its speed, an automatic tare weight entry system with ‘Vision Reader Cameras’, automatic sorting “due for testing” cylinders, integrated auto weight correction units, electronic leak detection system for valves and O rings, auto random quality check of filled cylinders and the capacity to bottle 4,200 cylinders per hour, as against the conventional carousal capacity of 1,400 cylinders/hour.
Speaking after the inauguration, Canth said, “With the Installation of ‘High Speed High Capacity Carousel’ the capacity of the plant will be enhanced by 100 per cent, which helps in reaching out to existing and new customers in the least possible time.”
