CPI stages dharna, seeks action against accused

Bagam Hemanth Rao, the district secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), said the government was sitting silent despite the offence was taking under broad day light.
“By producing fake edible things, some of the ruling party leaders are playing with the health of the poor people,” he alleged.
Earlier in the morning, after receiving the information that some of the persons discarded nearly 3,000 bags containing fake chilli powder in the Nagarjunasagar Project canal at Allipuram village, the CPI leaders rushed to the spot and staged a dharna demanding the arrest of offenders immediately.
“Why the ruling pink party is silent and not condemning the involvement of its leaders,” he questioned. The agitating leaders later called on District Collector DS Lokesh Kumar and Joint Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy and submitted a memorandum seeking action against the persons involved in the racket.
Responding to the CPI party leaders request, the Collector assured them that all necessary actions would be taken as par law and informed them that the cases were already registered by the police against the accused persons.
Party leaders S K Jani Miya, Mohammad Salaam, Pagadala Mallesh, Anugu Gandhi, Mekala Srinivas Rao, Chamakuri Venkkanna, Nune Shashidar, G Lakshminarayana, Rama Krishna, N Nageshwar Rao, M Pullaiah and Boda Veranna were present along with others.
