Dr Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi conferred engineering degrees to 70 Army Engineers of Degree Engineering (DE-97) and Technical Entry Scheme Officers (TES-26) courses in a Convocation Ceremony at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Secunderabad. 

Dr Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi conferred engineering degrees to 70 Army Engineers of Degree Engineering (DE-97) and Technical Entry Scheme Officers (TES-26) courses in a Convocation Ceremony at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Secunderabad.

It was indeed a rare honour for the student officers to receive their degrees and awards from the Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in presence of their families.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said, “We must emphasise on innovation in the fields of security, health, agriculture, pedagogy and environment, thus overall shaping the equitable and sustainable Indian society.”

The Ceremony was attended by a host of senior dignitaries from military and civil authorities and an august gathering of more than 400 service personnel and their families.

The affiliation of JNU and MCEME for conferring the B Tech and M Tech degrees to the student Officers will indeed empower them and provide the confidence to undertake the challenging tasks of providing effective combat engineering support during both War and Peace for the Indian Army.

While delivering the inaugural address Commandant MCEME Said “The MCEME is one of the premier training establishment of the Indian Army and one of the finest of its kind in the world.

The training coverage includes technologies and contemporary systems of Combat Vehicles, Radars, Air defence systems, Information and Communication technologies and Aeronautics”.
