Tips to score well in pre-boards

Unlike other examinations, pre-board examination is not usually taken seriously by the Class XII students. But the fact is that pre-board examination is no way less important.

In fact, it is reckoned as the iron gate of the entry into the much-awaited fantastic and career-making world of the college life. From this perspective, what we need is a holistic paradigm strategy for the preparation of the pre-board examination.

You must know the syllabi thoroughly Syllabi of subjects are like the beacon-light of a ship. A student must thoroughly know the syllabi of all subjects.

• It will help chalk out a road map for the serious and focussed study as well as effective preparation. Take care of the following vital points:
• Knowing the weightage of marks of each chapter of the subject is the stepping stone of wise study.
• Make a list of chapters with high weightage of marks and allot time accordingly.
• Prepare long-answer type questions in each chapter. The long - answer - type questions are usually 6-mark questions and so they do play crucial role.
• Make ready-reckoner notes of important facts, figures and formulae from each chapter and paste them at a vantage point in your study room.
• Do not ignore objective and multiple - choice questions
• A very high number of multiple-choice and objective types of questions are asked in the pre-board examinations.
• These questions are of quick-fix nature which can substantially assist a student scoring easy yet very crucial marks.
• To prepare these types of questions students must study each chapter very intensively.
• They need to keep on jotting down important concepts, theories, inventions, rules, laws, formulae, equations, and step-wise methods of measurement or calculation, units, year, date and a lot of other facts and figures while going through the chapters.
• Plan meticulously and become perfect
• They say that if you fail to plan then it means you plan to fail. It connotes that planning is sine qua non of the good preparation and good results of the examination. Make a plan which is realistic and holistic.
• Idealistic plan is tantamount to wastage of time and efforts. A planned study schedule not only gives you chance to focus equally on your all subjects but also helps you manage your time wisely.
• Do not fear, nor panic
• as per the CBSE norms, the syllabi of all the subjects of Class XII must be finished by the 30th November of the year. Keeping in mind this restraint, we need to be very active in the preparation of the pre-board examinations which usually commence in the second week of December.
• So it is very essential to keep patience and maintain the confidence level high and intact.
• Classify your subjects
• Every student has his or her own favourite subjects which he or she loves to study and finds easier to prepare than others. On the contrary some of the subjects seem to be hard nut to crack for the preparation of which the students need to put in very hard labour as well as ample amount of time and resources.
