T-Hub hosts IEEE Technology Summit
IEEE India Entrepreneurship Initiative, in association with IEEE Hyderabad Section has organised the first ever IEEE Technology Entrepreneurs’ Summit 2016 at T-Hub, Hyderabad on Sunday.
Hyderabad: IEEE India Entrepreneurship Initiative, in association with IEEE Hyderabad Section has organised the first ever IEEE Technology Entrepreneurs’ Summit 2016 at T-Hub, Hyderabad on Sunday.
The main motto behind this meet is to provide a platform for the students and the young entrepreneurs to share their ideas and to learn from the experienced delegates present at the meet.
Out of 300 applications received, IEEE has selected 100 applications to attend this summit and 11 applications were given an opportunity to talk and present their ideas.
The criteria for selection are based on the idea, experience and certain prototypes that made them stand unique. Few applicants also received the initial funding from IEEE at the summit to kick start their idea to action.
The Summit, inaugurated Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology Department, Government of Telangana along with Ramakrishna Kappagantu, IEEE R10 (Asia Pacific) Director and MGPL Narayana, Vice President of TCS Hyderabad who is volunteering as the Principal Lead for IEEE India initiative.
The IEEE Hyderabad section is represented by its Vice Chair, Maruthi Pathapati and organised by Amit Kumar who is the lead for Entrepreneurship Initiative in India supported by Nivas Ravichandran.
The speakers present at the summit covered various aspects of entrepreneurship which might be puzzling to budding and enthusiastic delegates who are looking to start their own ventures.
Santosh Panda, CEO, Explara talked about his start up journey and how he became a successful entrepreneur after a couple of minor setbacks.
Somnath Meher, the CEO of Blink (Witworks), an IoT startup, also gave an extensive idea on “Building a consumer IOT product in India”.
Panel discussions also were stimulating and informative on interesting topics like “Leveraging the power of the crowd” and “Cracking the ‘tough-nut’ markets”.
While “IEEE Standards for Startups” and “IEEE & Entrepreneurship Opportunities” were also discussed, a session was taken by AryasekharSanyal, Co-Founder of BDRC on how to penetrate Government sector markets & FMCG.
Some product pitches were also made by enthusiastic teams who were judged by Pradeep Pillai, Head – Programs of IIT Bombay SINE. SINE has also offered to support Social Enterprise startups for SINE-SAP accelerator (a 3 month training program with 3 lakh funding, for 1% equity) after a selection procedure.
The Summit also had Anupama Panchal, CTO of Gridle and Arun Vinayak, CPO of Ather Energy share their experiences with the enthusiastic delegates, who were looking to make the most of this opportunity.
On asking a volunteer, Vamsi J Krishna of IEEE the reason for choosing T-Hub for gathering he says “T-Hub is the place that generally gathers entrepreneurs and gives a wider hope and guidance for the young minds to put their ideas into actions, so we thought organising this meet here would turn out successful.”
