The party activists have staged a dharna in front of SBH Nakkalagutta branch in Hanamkonda on Tuesday protesting the Centre’s failure to address the cash crunch caused by withdrawal of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes.
The NDA government’s unprepared and directionless act of demonetisation has been troubling the common public even after 40 days passed since the withdrawal of the currency.
It claimed the lives nearly 92 persons across the country and four lakh jobs were lost, alleged the party leader V Veeranna.
The Centre and RBI have failed to ensure sufficient supply of smaller denomination currency in the banks. As a result, employees and labourers were forced to make rounds of banks and ATMs to withdraw the meagre amounts they have.
Those, who have listed to be the richest in the country and accused of hoarding black money, were closely associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nearly Rs 11 lakh crores of loans were evaded by Ambanis, Adani and Vedanta Group, the Centre, which failed to recover these loans, has targeted the common man, he complained.
The Centre, which allowed private firms like Future Group, Biz Bazaar and others to distribute newly introduced currency, has prevented cooperative banks to exchange the old currency.
Immediate measures to recover loans evaded by corporate houses and influential persons should be taken, he added. Party leaders A Yakaiah, P Srinivas, P Raju, Linga Reddy, Ramesh Naik and others took part in the protest.
