Station Ghanpur: A mega leather park in an extent of 117 acres in Station Ghanpur village of Warangal Rural district at an estimated cost of Rs 270 crores has been planned by the State government and sent to the Central government for approval.

Disclosing this in the Assembly on Tuesday during question hour, Minister for Information Technology K T Rama Rao said while submitting the proposal to the Union government’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion for according sanction to the same, it was sought a Central assistance of Rs 105 crore.

Rama Rao also said earlier though nine mini-leather parks had come up in different parts of the State, they were found to be not up to the mark.

Thus, once the mega leather park comes up in Station Ghanpur, these nine mini-leather parks would be affiliated to it.

Once the mega park comes up, it would create job opportunities to some 20,000 people, he said and added that approval from the Centre was awaited and once the proposal was approved, the project would be completed in two years.
