Kridotsav 2016, unfolded with opulent magnificence. The chief Guest M Stephen Ravindra- Jt Commissioner of police Cyberabad and the guest of Honour Victor Amalraj, Former India football team Captain and a many other dignitaries were welcomed by the Principal, Shailaja Gopinath most cordially.

A motivational song was sung by the students.

The flag hoisting Ceremony followed and then the students of classes nine and ten presented the march past where the four Houses Ganga, Godavari, Kaveri and Narmada tried to excel and outdo the other.

True to the tradition, the torch lighting Ceremony unfolded followed by the Oath taking Ceremony.

A spectacular drill was then presented by the students of classes five and six and the theme was celebration of sports as a unifying force transcending all geographical boundaries! The students displayed fan flamboyance and made an interesting formation of a bouquet of flowers and the expressed their veneration for their school by making a formation of the letters ‘DPS.’

The magic of sports ensued with the various interesting races and each race had a distinctive flavour with the cheering of students renting the air.

The sportspersons participating in the races were brimming with enthusiasm and vigour and a deep and a compelling instinct to win.

This was followed by karate and Taekwondo display where the students displayed their steely muscles and unswerving focus with their demonstrations.

This was followed by the Chief Guest’s address and trophies for the best sports persons- boy and girl were announced.

Trophies were also given away for the best march past house and Inter House Trophy for the year was given away amidst thunderous applause.

The grand finale was a scintillating drill titled ‘Oorja- Harnessing energy through movement’ presented by the students of classes seven and eight during the course of which the students presented the Sun formation, Suryanamaskar, Kalaripayattu and aerobics display.

Their formation of ‘Happy 2017’ was heart-warming and wormed its way into the hearts of the audience.

Thereafter the sports meet was declared closed ceremonially.
