Hanamkonda: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been acting as if he is the CM for only Gajwel assembly constituency, which he represents, alleged TDP senior leader Revuri Prakash Reddy.

He reminded the CM that he has assumed office under the solemn oath of treating all the people in the State equally. But the CM’s actions are contradicting such oath as he failed to address needs of public on equal terms.

Speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda, he said there are 8,778 gram panchayats, 10,761 revenue villages, 38 municipalities, 28 nagara panchayats and six municipal corporations in Telangana State. But the CM felt there are only two villages - Erravelli and Narsannapet - where the people needed houses.

According to the integrated household survey conducted by the State government, there are nearly 50 lakh poor homeless people. In January 2014, the CM promised to build 1,500 houses in Warangal city for the poorer sections. But the CM has not cared provide housing to them.

Even after two years, the double bedroom houses proposed in Warangal are still at basement level only. By completing 580 of 600 double bedroom houses proposed at Erravelli and Narsannapet villages, the CM is trying to create an illusion among those who are in need of the housing, Prakash Reddy complained.

He demanded the government provide double bedroom housing to all the eligible families. The TDP leader alleged that large scale corruption has been taking place in Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and other irrigation projects benefitting the contractors. The contractors, who have benefitted, are praising the government through advertisements in the media.

He wanted the TRS government to initiate immediate measures to deliver its promises of three acre land to dalits, providing job to one person in each family and implement fee reimbursement scheme properly.

Referring to the comments made by IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, who wanted the Opposition to prove the allegations of corruption in irrigation projects, Prakash Reddy challenged the government to make public the documents of tenders called for Palamur-ngareddy project.

Party leaders G Satyanarayana Rao, E Mallesham, K Madhusudhan Reddy, Pulluru Ashok, T Jayapal, Ch Raghunath Reddy, B Eashwar, Margam Sarangam, Md Raheem and others were present.
