Kothagudem: The government upper primary school at Hanuman Basti in the old Kothagudem, which has been selected for introducing English as medium of instruction for the academic year 2016-17, is competing with corporate ones to provide quality education to its students. The school authorities said they were confident that the school would become popular soon as it was providing education with well-trained teachers including computer education. Mid-day meal is also being served to the students.

The teachers are providing excellent training to the students with an aim to see them on top.

About 35 teachers assisted by 20 Anganwadi staff are teaching 970 students from classes 1-5 with 17 sections. As many as 15 teachers, five contract teachers and B Ed trainees are teaching 382 high school students. A well-known service organisation ‘Sarada Kutir’ is providing mid-day meals to the students.Talking to The Hans India, Primary School Headmaster I Nageswara Rao, High School Headmistress T Usha Rani and Principal Vidya Sagar said admissions for the next academic year were under progress. “With Jalagam’s initiative and Microsoft’s support, we are able to provide free computer education to the students. As many as 20 washrooms have been constructed,” they added.
