Hanamkonda: The Hanamkonda police have arrested Kampa Devender, the courier of Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal (KKW) Maoist party secretary Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar, and seized a laptop, wall posters and revolutionary literature from him. Devender belongs to Nagaram village in Bhupalpalli district and was allegedly working as the courier for Maoist party since 1996. He was arrested by Bhupalpalli police in 2005 for the first time and bound him over to local tahsildar. After his arrest he lived a normal life for some time.

Giving details of the arrest, Hanamkonda Circle Inspector A Sampath Rao said that they had received credible information about the movements of Devender. The police learnt the he was coming to Warangal after meeting Damodar and arrested him after he got down from a bus at Mulug road in the city on Monday.

Devender was said to have come here to get Damodar's laptop repaired and to procure man-packs. He used to provide mobiles, SIM cards, recharge coupons, shoes, revolutionary material and other articles to the Maoists.During questioning Devender confessed that he has been working as courier for the Maoists, the CI said.Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu has appreciated CI Sampath Rao, SI K Venkateshwaralu, constables Shravan Kumar and Ramesh for nabbing the courier.
