Rare fish found in Udayasamudram reservoir

​Nalgonda: A rare fish, known as Eel fish, was found trapped in a fisherman’s net in Udayasamudram reservoir located at Pangal of Nalgonda town on Tuesday.

Raju, the fisherman, was shocked after noticing it in his net. District Fisheries Officer M Charitha, after inspecting the images of the fish asserted that it was a very rare fish known as Eel fish, which generally lives at meeting points of rivers and seas.

She further informed that Eels live in freshwater and migrate to oceans to breed. Explaining about the specialities of the Eel fish,

she said it has high nutritious value and packed with medicinal properties. They grow up to 7 kg and have a huge demand in international market.
