AU to hold global meet on social biz for sustainable development
Andhra University (AU) will be organising an international symposium on, Social Business for Sustainable Development next month from January 5 to 7.
​Hyderabad: Andhra University (AU) will be organising an international symposium on, Social Business for Sustainable Development next month from January 5 to 7.
It is being organised by Andhra University as part of its 90th foundation year in association with resource centre, Yunus Centre, Dhaka
“The main aim of the symposium is to sensitise rural communities, Nobel Peace Laureate Prof Mohammad Yunus will interact with teachers, lecturers and students at different levels such as schools, colleges on social business concepts”, says G Nageshwara Rao, VC, AU.
“Nearly 1,000 delegates from all over India besides foreign delegates will attend the conference, while 200 of them will present papers on varied subjects”, he added.
The VC informed that Prof Mohammad and Prof Ibrahim will give key-note address and special talks while Prof Pogaku Ravindra of University of Malaysia deliberate on Green Economy, CMD of National Research Development Corporation,
New Delhi Dr Purushotham will give a lecture on education and entrepreneurship, Prof Seeram Ramakrishna of Singapore on energy and Chairman of Recruitment Board, CSIR Dr S R Wate on clean environment and sustainable development.
Organizing Committee Chairman Prof V S R K Prasad, Registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao, Symposium Convener Prof K Raghubabu, Media Relations Dean Prof P Babbi Vardhan and Associate Dean C Ramakrishna were also present.
The organising committee will provide free hospitality and free registration for rural communities, teachers, lecturers and students and the symposium focus on Prof Mohammad Yunus concepts of Zero Un-employment, Zero Poverty and Zero Carbon Emission.
The symposium envisages a scholarly dialogue on all encompassing facets of social business while place focus on the concepts such as curriculum and Pedagogy for 21 century, education, green economy and clean environment and ethics of energy.
