Khammam: The leaders of the District Congress Committee celebrated the 132nd Formation Day of the National Congress party on a very grand note here at Sanjeev Reddy Bhavan in Khammam on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion after hoisting the flag, the president of the District Congress Committee Aiatam Satyam said it was the Congress Party which brought freedom to the country from British by forming as national party on December 28 in the year 1885.

“Even though many regional parties were formed by that time and were fighting against British government to free the country, it was the Congress party which brought all the regional parties under one umbrella to get rid of cruel British government from our country under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi,” he added.

He also said, “After independence, under the reign of the Congress government, many major projects and reforms along with developmental activities were taken up for the welfare of the people in the country.” “There is a need to take the party into the public and to each and every village," he directed the leaders of the Congress party.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Nagubandi Rambabu, corporators Vaddeboina Narasimha Rao, Minority Cell president Tajuiddin Baba, ST Cell president Balaji Naik, Women Unit president Bandi Mani, M Nagendar, Md Ismail, R Sharath, G Venkataiah and L Saidulu Naik were present along with others.
