GHMC employees to wear handloom on Mondays

Contributing their efforts towards promoting indigenous fabrics, employees of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will follow a dress code. In this regard, they will wear attire in khadi every Monday.

The instruction came from GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy. This has been decided following the decision of Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao who asked the heads of all line departments to see that the staff including all heads wears handloom clothes once in a week.

“This move is aimed at encouraging handloom weavers,” the Commissioner said.
