Pochampalli: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Tuesday after her parents refused to get her married to her lover. According to police, Vallandasu Swetha (18) has been in love with one Nari Krishna (21) of the neighbouring village of Revanapalli for some time. The family of the girl, who came to know about her love, firmly rejected her marriage to Krishna. Dejected, she consumed pesticide to end her life. She died while being shifted to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. Meanwhile, Krishna, who came to know about Swetha’s death, attempted suicide on Tuesday night. He was rushed to a private hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.
