Peddapalli: ‘Never forget our culture and tradition. It is the responsibility of every person to protect our culture and tradition as many of us forgetting it,’ said District Collector Dr V S Alugu Varshini.She inaugurated district-level youth festival selection process at Zilla Parishad High School here on Wednesday. Earlier, students of various educational institutions took out a massive rally from Telangana Chowk to Zilla Parishad High School on the day.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector told the students to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda and follow his footsteps to protect the culture. She observed that one must possess professional skills to achieve success in life. The students must target one goal at a time and must work to achieve that target. Teachers must guide them to achieve their goals by motivating them. Parents are real Gods, all should respect them and never disappoint them, she added.

The Collector said those students, who perform well at district-level will be selected to participate at State-level youth festival. The students were assured that they would be provided with English medium books along with other facilities such as Identity cards, foot ball and volley ball kits and also construction of additional class rooms in coming up academic year.

Chief Planning Officer K Ravinder, District Educational Officer Venkateshwar Rao, District Panchayat Officer P Rajeshwar Reddy, District Forest Officer Krishnama Chary, District Youth and Sports Officer Rajveer, Panchayat Raj engineer Venkateshwar Rao, Scheduled Castes department Development Officer M Mogilaiah and School Principal Murali Naik were present along with others.
