Collector stresses on basic facilities in govt schools

Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials of education department to give special attention towards providing basic facilities in all government schools in the district.The Collector chaired a meeting with the officials of education department here at Pragna Conference Hall in Collectorate in Khammam on Thursday.

Addressing the officials, the District Collector asked the officials to give more priority to the construction of toilets under National Employment Guarantee Scheme.“Speed up works to complete them within the time limit and also take necessary steps for the completion of construction of new school buildings in the district,” he said.

“Concentrate on underperforming students and arrange special classes for their improvement,” suggested the Collector, adding the officials to identify students who were physically weak and suffering from illness and provide them necessary medical treatment under Arogyasri Scheme.

He further advised the officials to provide all the books required for SSC students and help them perform well in the upcoming up Board examinations, apart from taking necessary steps for construction of compound wall to every school and provide drinking water facilities.District Educational Officer Vijaya Lakshmi Bai and Mandal Education Officers attended the meeting.
