The Railway Minister said that they would give priority to safety, comfort and affordability while developing the railways.   He said that projects worth Rs 17,000 crore were at various stages of completion in the Telangana State and the year 2017 would prove to be an important year as far as upgradation and development of railways were concerned. 

Nizamabad: Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu launched the new train service from Jagtiyal to Morthad by a remote switch through a video conference from New Delhi on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Rs 709 crore were sanctioned for the development of railway lines.

The Railway Minister said that they would give priority to safety, comfort and affordability while developing the railways. He said that projects worth Rs 17,000 crore were at various stages of completion in the Telangana State and the year 2017 would prove to be an important year as far as upgradation and development of railways were concerned.

Speaking on the occasion, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha thanked the minister for sanctioning the train service to Morthad. She said that she made representations to the Union Railway Minister 25 times for it. She expressed happiness that the 20-year-old dream of the Nizamabad people has become a reality now with the new train service. It would have a cascading effect on the development activities, she added.

Kavitha said that after the formation of the Telangana State, a budget worth Rs 250 crore was taken. She said that the Railway Minister promised to sanction more funds to upgrade and develop Nizamabad Railway Station.Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya was present on the occasion.
