Police arrest him, seize three laptops from his possession

Nalgonda: The Nalgonda police on Thursday arrested a laptop thief with the help of the CCTV camera footage and seized three laptops worth Rs 1.2 lakh from his possession.

Producing the accused before the media on Thursday, SP Prakash Reddy said the arrested person, identified as Vunnam Rama Rao (30), is a native of Piduguralla of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh and was working as a contributor for a Telugu news channel.Rama Rao stole three laptops from an internet cafe on December 21 night, which was situated near RTC Bus Stand. After receiving the cafe’s owner complaint, police checked the footage of CCTV camera which was installed in the RTC bus stand and identified a person suspiciously moving in bus stand and boarding an RTC bus which was travelling to Miryalaguda.

The police caught the accused and took him into the custody. Reddy informed that the fingerprints of the arrested matched with the accused in other cases, which he had committed in Kurnool and Hyderabad city.He suggested the institutions to do a background check of their employees before employing them and added that they were ready to extend their help in this regard.
