Karimnagar: The police foiled an attempt made by the CPI activists and leaders to set fire to an effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao after they protested against the government’s alleged failure to implement the 2013 Land Acquisition Act.

The protestors alleged that many would suffer losses following the changes effected in the Land Acquisition Act, while referring to the Bill passed in the State Assembly on Wednesday. They said that the party was opposed to forcible takeover of lands.
Ramgopal Reddy, CPI District Secretary, while speaking to The Hans India, called upon the government to change its adamant attitude and render justice to the people with regard to lands.
