Kothagudem: Stating that cashless transactions would save time, the Kothagudem Municipal Commissioner, B Shafiullah, urged people to carry out cashless transactions and promote it in a bigger way. Speaking at an awareness programme held on cashless transactions for traders at the municipal office here on Friday, Shafiullah said, “Women can make purchases and complete their works from home.”Tahsildar Ashok Chakravarthi said training on cashless transactions was being given to the people of two villages of each mandal and two wards of municipality in the district. He further added that cashless transactions was the easiest mode and was being opted by all the States in the country.

The bank officials urged everyone to update their 3G and 4G mobile phones along with internet connection. “This would enable the people to pay all kinds of bills online. Using cashless transactions will reduce crimes at ATMs,” they added.They also said the customers who were not using their zero balance accounts under Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana scheme should renew their accounts. Later, they gave training to traders and municipal office staff. They said with the help of educated youth, they were going spread awareness on cashless transactions on a large scale.
