Khammam: The District General Secretary Nandi Manohar of Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti (KVPS) demanded the government to invest funds of SC sub-plan for the development of dalits without diverting them to release the pending SC corporation loans.The representatives of KVPS staged a dharna in front of Dr. B R Ambedkar Statue at ZP centre in Khammam on Wednesday demanding to frame the rules for the perfect implementation of SC Sub-plan Act.
Speaking on the occasion, the District president of KVPS Muttamala Prasad said that without a proper set of rules by the government for SC and ST Sub-plan Act, which was achieved after several movements, the funds which must be invested for the development of dalits are being diverted for other purposes.He alleged that the government is showing discrimination towards dalits without allotting sufficient amount of funds as par the ratio of the dalit population present in the State and the Country.
“As many as 17, 000 unemployed youth and women applied for loans under self-employment to the SC-Corporation last year out of which about 3,709 members received sanctioning letters, from which only 700 members were issued with cheques with subsidy. Even after repeated requests by the beneficiaries the Corporation has not sanctioned loans to them till date,” he alleged.
He demanded the government to release the loans of SC-Corporation, which are pending, immediately and help the poor dalits who are living in miserable conditions. The representatives of KVPS while discussing with the District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar had explained about their problems. The Collector assured them that he will take the matter to the notice of the government and will take initiation for solving the issues.The leaders of KVPS Ganta Bheemaiah, Banka Mallaiah, Nandigama Krishna, S K Saidulu, Nakirikanti Chirnajeevi, Bandla Venkataramana and Bhadraiah were present along with others.
