Taking the pledge for road safety mainstream, Maruti Suzuki and Radio Mirchi in association with the Traffic Police Department came together for the second edition of ‘Maruti Traffic Heroes of India’ for Mirchi Traffic School on Monday. The initiative will address the issues of road traffic awareness.

Present at the meet were members from Maruti Suzuki that included Raghavendra Prabhu, Regional Head (Spares Parts), Ajmal Hussain, Basha, ACP - West Zone, Chandrasekhar, Inspector Traffic (Begumpet) and Sai Sagar Patnaik, Programming Head, Radio Mirchi.

At every traffic signal, Radio Mirchi personnel will gratify the city’s traffic police personnel for helping to improve traffic sense among people.

Speaking about the event, Anindya Datta, Regional Manager, Maruti Suzuki said, “This year we hope to get more people to pledge to follow road safety and traffic rules.

Our only aim is to curb willful violation of traffic rules and make driving in the city a safe and pleasant experience for everyone.”

“We will also give out prizes to those citizens who are adhering to traffic rules. The people will also be asked to take pledge to follow road safety by signing a pledge card,” said Datta.

The weeklong initiative will run until January 15 and will travel to Gurugram, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Indore, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Pune, Mumbai and Ranchi.

City commuters can support this initiative by giving a missed call number to phone number 8000100129 and also by posting pictures of their fellow commuters’ #pledgeforroadsafety who will be seen following the traffic rules.
