Hyderabad: The second day of the 77 IPSC Principals Conclave which is being hosted by the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, Hyderabad has witnessed an interesting guest speaker Sonam Wangchuk.

He is the Founding Director of the Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) – An institute than runs completely on solar energy, without the use of fossil fuels.

Sonam Wangchuk is the brain child of various innovative programmes such as Operation New Hope in 1994 that involved collaboration of government, civil Society and village communities leading to an unprecedented success rate of 10 grade exam results from 5 per cent to 75 per cent.

Another revolutionary invention to his credit is the ICE STUPA- technique that creates artificial glaciers, used for storing winter water solving the problem of water crises for agriculture in the desert region of Himalaya.

The intellectually profound academic gathering also witnessed a list of distinguished speakers and delegates such as Ajit Rangnekar, former dean of ISB, Deepa Kiran- founder of story of Arts of India, Shyam Mohan – Vice President, HPS society, Ratan Postwalla- partner & co founder, people trust.
