​Khammam: The government is determined to supply nine hours of uninterrupted power supply for agriculture sector, said the Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy here in Sattupalli of Khammam district on Tuesday.

Jagadish Reddy along with Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao inaugurated the 33/11 KV sub-station apart from laying foundation stone for the construction of 30 double bedroom houses here at Kishtaram village of Sattupalli mandal on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Energy Minister suggested the farming community to make judicial use of electricity and water.

He also asked the farmers not to use auto starters fitted to their motors as they would cause breakdown of grids and transformers.

Tummala said the main aim of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was to make the State sufficient in grain production by supplying required amounts of electricity to the farming sector.

“The Sitarama Project works which were started at cost of Rs 8 crore are about to finish. With that, the total Sattupalli area, which is supplying the palm oil to the whole nation, will be provided with required quantities of water and the farmers could go with any kind of crop they wish to,” assured Tummala.

The Minister also said the government was working for the uplift of weaker sections and has been constructing double bedroom houses by investing crores of rupees.

MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said after taking charge as a Chief Minister, within six months of time only K Chandrashekar Rao solved the problem of power cuts in the State.

“CM KCR is determined to transform Telangana into Bangaru Telangana,” said the MP. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy and district officials were present along with peoples’ representatives.
