​Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal stated that Local body representatives have to play a key role in creating awareness among the rural people about cashless transactions.

On Tuesday, he attended as a chief guest to the meeting of ZPTCs, MPPs and MPTCs at Zilla Parishad Meeting Hall.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the meeting was arranged to educate the local body representatives on cashless transactions so that they could further educate the villagers of their territory and drive them towards cashless transactions.

He suggested them to inform villagers to open bank accounts and also advise them to seed their Aadhaar number and cell number to bank accounts to carry out cashless transactions in an easy way. “Approach local bank officials to provide swiping machines to local traders,” he directed them.

The Collector also advised the officials and representatives to work collectively to improve the digital dealings in majority villages and mandals, and also asked them to interact with villagers and explain them about the benefits of the cashless dealings using credit, debit and internet banking during day-to -day purchases and payment of utility bills.

ZP Chairman Balu Naik stated that district administration paid special attention to turn the district into a digital one and in this connection it was the duty of public representatives to take active part in the mission and create awareness on cashless dealings to become role model to others.
