Nalgonda: An eco-tourism project was planned in 10 to 15 acres of land on a hill area near the backwaters of Nagarjuna Sagar Project in the district.Telangana State Forest Development Corporation (TSFDC) Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Managing Director Chandana Mithra along with Zilla Parishad Chairman Balu Naik inspected Neredugomma, Peddamunigala and Vizag Colony for proposed eco-tourism project.

They came to a conclusion that a hill area located at Vizag Colony near the backwaters of Nagarjuna Sagar Project was the right place for the proposed project. As a part of the project, infrastructure including cottages, restaurants and gardens would come up in 10 to 15 acres of the area. The cottages and restaurants would be constructed with the bamboo sticks and wood to give a natural feel of staying in forest. A launch station would be setup in the area for ferrying on the waters of Nagarjuna Sagar Project. The TSTDC will execute the works.

Speaking on the occasion, Banda Narender Reddy stated that famous Devaracharla temple, Rajanala Killa and other historic places located near the selected place would definitely give tourists an adventurous feeling.
