Heavy traffic jam at Panthangi toll gate

​Choutuppal: As is the case every year, heavy traffic jam was witnessed on Thursday at the Panthangi toll gate in Yadadri district, with more vehicle-owners stopping there on their way to the native villages and towns to celebrate Sankranti.

Vehicles were stranded at the gate to a distance of two km. The use of credit and debits cards by people contributed to the delay in letting off the vehicles after collecting the toll fee by the staff.

Of the 16 gates, 12 for the benefit of those travelling towards Vijayawada were opened. Yet, there were traffic jams because of heavy rush at the toll gate.
