Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal stated that though Swami Vivekananda had lived only 39 years, his impact on the Indian society was tremendous and still continuing.

On Thursday, he attended Swami Vivekananda Jayanti celebrations jointly organised by Telangana Upadhya Sangam (TUPS) and Department of District Youth Affairs at Vivekananda statue located near Raghavendra Colony centre in Nalgonda.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector underlined the need to propagate the ideals and principles of Swami Vivekananda and instill moral values in present generation who were running behind social media.

The other speakers also emphasised the need for propagating the principles of Swami Vivekananda to develop ethics and moral values in the youth.

Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson Lakshmi Srinivas said the youth should follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda, whose life was an inspiration to the nation.

Joint Collector Satyanarayana said children should be encouraged to read books of Swami Vivekananda and his life history in order to imbibe good qualities.

RDO Venkatachary, DSDO Maqbool Ahmed, DEO Chandra Mohan, local councilor Miryala Yadadgiri, TPUS leaders Papireddy, Kanchanapally Vijay Kumar, BJP district president Nukala Venkatanaryana and others garlanded and paid rich tributes to Swami Vivkananda.

Meanwhile, BJP youth wing BJYM took out a torch rally in the main streets of Nalgonda in the evening on the occasion of National Youth Day.
