​Peddagutta (Yadadri): Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy stated that International Kite Festival held at Yadadri will bring global recognition to the hill shrine.

On Monday, the Minister along with Government Whip Gongadi Sunitha, Collector Anitha Ramachandran and others launched the kite festival at Peddagutta of the temple town.

He appreciated the Tourism department, Yadadri Temple Development Authority and temple officials for the grand arrangements made for the festival.

He congratulated 32 delegates who came from 19 countries and members of six domestic kite clubs who took part in the festival.

Local MLA and Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha speaking on the occasion said, the villages surrounded by Yadadri would be developed considerably by taking up new constructions.

Meanwhile, delegates from France, Indonesia, Singapur, Japan, UK, Scotland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Italy, Malaysia, Cambodia, Poland and organiser committee main members temple EO Geetha, YTDA Special Officer Kishan Rao, District Joint Collector Ravi Naik and others participated.

Large number of people from Yadagirigutta and Hyderabad thronged Peddagutta to witness the kite festival. The organisers in association with other government departments and police made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of participants and viewers.

Foreign delegates were welcomed to the temple on a grand note by priests and they received blessings from them after they had the darshan of the Lord Laxmi Narasimhaswamy at Bala Aalayam.

Along with his wife, Minister Indrakaran Reddy during his tour to Yadadri had darshan of Lord Laxmi Narasimhaswamy and inspected the progress of the works on the hillock.
