Bhupalpalli: The first meeting of the newly formed District e-Governance Society was held here on Monday. The District Collector and Chairman of the Society, A Murali, had chaired the meeting.

Discussions were held on measures required to promote e-governance in the district to achieve better results in terms of implementing welfare and development programmes.

It was planned to set up new Mee-Seva centres in the villages. The e-district manager and the district revenue officer were asked to select villages for setting up the centres. A notification would soon be issued for the purpose.

The Collector has asked the officials, who were part of the society, to come up with proposals and plans to make Bhupalpalli district as an e-district.

Electronic governance could help maintain transparency and efficiency in taking the welfare programmes to the targetted sections, he noted.

Efforts should be made to connect all government offices with wi-fi network facility and equip them with computers, printers, scanners and other related equipment.

All the employees should boost their knowledge of computer usage in order to deliver the services in a better manner, the Collector added.

Joint Collector and convener of the society D Amoy Kumar, District Revenue Officer P Mohan Lal, District Panchayat Officer V Chandramouli, District Education Officer K Sahadevudu, e-district manager P Srikanth and others have shared their views in connection with the e-governance initiatives.
