​Bhupalpalli: The district administration here is gearing up to celebrate Republic Day on January 26 for the first time in the newly formed Jayashanker Bhupalpalli district.

District Collector A Murali, along with Superintendent of Police R Bhaskaran and Joint Collector D Amoy Kumar on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements to be made for the smooth conduct of the celebration.

Republic Day will be celebrated at Singareni Collieries’ Ambedkar Stadium in Bhupalpalli town. The Collector wanted the police personnel to conduct the parade rehearsals in coordination with the RDO.

Similarly in coordination with police department, the R&B officials should put up barricading, he said while directing the nagara panchayat officials to ensure cleanliness in the ground, supply of drinking water and power supply.

The Collector wanted deployment of 108 ambulance, a fire engine and fire brigade, and medical team at the venue. The students of government and private schools, SC/ST/BC hostels and residential schools have to be involved in performing cultural events.

A list of recipients of Republic Day merit certificates should be prepared and submitted to the collector’s office by Friday and arrangements for photo exhibition and tableaus on district’s progress have to be made, the Collector said.

Later on the day, the Collector and other officials have visited Ambedkar stadium. District Revenue Officer P Mohan Lal, District Education Officer K Sahadevudu, DSP Srinivas, DPRO Srinivas and others were present.
