Khammam: Additional Superintendent of Police S Sai Krishna stated that many road accidents could be prevented by following the traffic rules diligently.

As part of Road Safety Week Celebrations, a special drive was organised by Medical and Health, Regional Transport Office and R&B departments in association with Khammam Traffic Police to create awareness among people about traffic rules here in front of Government Hospital in Khammam on Thursday.

Attending as a chief guest to the programme, ASP S Sai Krishna said with more and more motorists increasing, people must follow the traffic rules strictly for preventing road accidents.

“Many people lost their lives by not following traffic rules and many families are suffering a lot by losing their sole bread winner.

By living organised life, one should protect their valuable lives for building a better society,” he advised.

“Several awareness programmes on wearing helmets, drunken driving, minor driving and use of seat belt are being organised to minimise road accidents since many of the road accidents are taking place due to the minor mistakes committed by the people by not following traffic rules,” he pointed.

Traffic Circle Inspector P Naresh Reddy, Hospital Superintendent Dr Madan Singh, RMO Shoba Rani, MVI Dhanraj Bajaj, AE of R&B department Bhagavan and retired RTO Indrasena Reddy were present along with doctors and hospital staff.
