The famous Lateef Saheb Dargah three-day Urs started here on a grand note in Nalgonda town on Thursday.
Nalgonda: The famous Lateef Saheb Dargah three-day Urs started here on a grand note in Nalgonda town on Thursday.
The Urs was kick-started with carrying of Gandham to the Dargah atop the hill of Lateef Saheb from Madina Masjid in a procession.
Following the tradition, the District Collector Gaurav Uppal, Superintendent of Police Prakash Reddy, Local MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Muslim religious leaders and various party leaders participated in the programme and assured their cooperation for the successful conduct of Urs.
‘Quawwali’ programme would be organised as part of the celebrations, disclosed the organisers.
Urs Committee vice-chairman Syed Jaffer, RDO Venkata Chary, TRS Assembly Constituency in-charge Dubbaka Narsimha Reddy, TDP Assembly Constituency in-charge Bhoopal Reddy, Syed Hasham, Tahsildar Vinay Kumar and large number of local people participated.
