Karimnagar: With the coordination of various government departments, traffic problems could be solved with ease, which are multiplying with increasing population, observed Commissioner of Police V B Kamalsan Reddy.

The Commissioner of Police, City Municipal Commissioner Shashank, R& B officials along with engineers of Bharat Electronic Private Limited conducted survey on installing and establishing of traffic signals at various locations in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police said that the centres that were established earlier were unable to solve traffic problems as the city population has increased enormously in recent years.

The traffic problems can be solved with establishment of signaling system with ease. About 17 centres are identified for establishing signalling system in the city taking those areas into consideration which are developing very rapidly under Commissionerate limits, the Commissioner of Police said.

He also added that to get smart city tag for Karimnagar, it became a must to solve the traffic issues at the earliest. By completing the survey, a report will be sent to the government for sanctioning of funds for establishing the signaling system in the city.

By linking CCTV cameras installed at the main centres with the ‘Command Control Room’, cops would be able to identify the traffic problems to solve them immediately, he added.

R&B Official Venu Gopal, Engineers of Bharat Electronic Private Limited Ankith, Kalyan and Traffic Inspector Mahesh Goud were present along with others.
