KU student sets record
A student of Kakatiya University affiliated college has created an inter university record in a sprint event at All India Inter University Athletics Championship held at Anna University, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu from January 11 to 16.Â
Wins gold medal in 100-metre sprint event at All India Inter-varsity Athletics Championship
​Hanamkonda: A student of Kakatiya University affiliated college has created an inter university record in a sprint event at All India Inter University Athletics Championship held at Anna University, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu from January 11 to 16.
The student, Ch Sudhir of SR&BGNR College of Khammam has finished the 100 metre race in 10.53 seconds to set the record and to win gold medal.
Another student, M Veludurai Pandian of New Science Degree College, Hanamkonda won silver medal in 200 metre event finishing the run in 21.77 seconds.
The students have met the university Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna at his chambers on the university campus on Friday.
The V-C, Registrar Prof MV Ranga Rao and Sports Board Secretary Gade Pani have congratulated the two athletes for winning medals and for bringing laurels to the university.
