​Nalgonda: CITU district secretary Salim urged both the State and Central governments to recognise the workers of various schemes as labourers, and demanded Rs 18,000 salary per month to them.

On Friday, as a part of national wide strike of scheme workers, a rally was conducted on the streets of Nalgonda town.

Addressing the protestors, Salim said, government made Anganwadi, Asha, mid-day meals, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, 2nd ANM, NHRM, NREGS, Sakshar Bharath, IKP workers as their slaves by paying nominal wages and honorariums.

“Most of these workers are from BC, SC, ST and Minority communities and are struggling to make their ends meet,” he added.

He demanded the governments to implement the recommendations of 45th Indian labour Conference and payment of Rs 18,000 monthly wages and pension of Rs 3,000 under social security.

CITU leaders Dandempally Sathaiah, Keshavulu, Istari, Sagarla Yadaiah and workers participated.
