According to the grapevine the show ‘Woh Apna Sa’ is the television version of your film ‘We Are Family’. How true is it?
‘Woh Apna Sa’ is not a television version of ‘We Are Family’. The only similarity we can say is that one woman is a homemaker and another woman is a home-breaker. ‘We Are Family’ was the official remake of ‘Step Mom’ and this is not ‘Step Mom’. It's radically different and the minute you see the first episode you'll come to know that it's original concept and it's not influenced by ‘We Are Family’ or any other film.

Don’t you feel a man with two women is a monotonous story?
A man with two women is a completely monotonous story, but not when those characters are layered, not when those characters are well defined. A man with two women can become an interesting story in the world. So it depends on your writing and presentation.

You are bringing back the two divas of TV – Disha Parmar and Ridhi Dogra, are you ready for any tussle in future?
I am ready for every tussle in the show but I hope not on any personal grounds. I like to have a peaceful and fun atmosphere and I am very clear with my actors. Disha Parmar and Ridhi Dogra are wonderful people to work with as of now I can say that. They have been delightful and are really nailing their characters very well.

Which role is more challenging, being a director or a producer?
A producer's job is way more challenging than a director's. A director leads the entire team and people follow his vision but a producer has to deal with too many egos.

He has to handle costs, deal with writers, channel, director, actors, etc. So I think the producer's job is the toughest at least in this country. But at the same time if you are a creative and the channel lets you do and narrate your story then it's the most satisfying job.
