Disabled siblings awaiting care

​Luxettipet: Cursed by fate, the disabled siblings Lasumavva (40) and Tirupathi (35) await for help after the death of their father Rajaiah recently, their only caretaker so far.

Rajaiah and his wife Rukkavva of Velganoor in Dandepally mandal had given birth to three children. The eldest one, Lasumavva is mentally-challenged. The second one, Tirupathi is physically-challenged. The couple got disheartened by the helpless condition of their children.

However, taking care of these two, Rukkavva gave birth to another boy, who is also unfortunately turned out to be physically-challenged. Rukkavva, who couldn’t bear pain of their children paid with her life.

The youngest child, who couldn’t digest his mother’s death, too died in despair. Later, Rajaiah tried to make up for the absence of his wife which couldn’t last. He too died 10 days ago. The villagers donated money and helped Tirupathi to perform his father’s last rites by carrying him.

Now there is no one to look after Lasumavva and Tirupathi although the government has been providing them pension. The villagers opine that either the government or any NGO or any individual need to come to the rescue of these helpless siblings.
