68th Republic Day celebrated with fervour
The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Police Parade grounds in Karimnagar on Thursday.
Karimnagar: The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Police Parade grounds in Karimnagar on Thursday.
District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed attended as the chief guest at the police parade.
Addressing the gathering after hoisting the national flag, the Collector explained the developmental activities under progress in the district.
As many as 20 tableaux (Shakatalu) of various departments with their developmental activities were exhibited on the occasion.
Among them, the tableaux of District Welfare department won first prize, the Horticultural department won second and Sericulture department got third prize.
Sarfaraz Ahmed handed over the cheques of Rs 3.35 crores sanctioned by various departments to about 62 members of beneficiaries.
